Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has expressed deep grief over the passing of the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Shariah in Nigeria (SCSN), Malam Nafiu Baba-Ahmad.
Baba-Ahmad, a legal practitioner, Islamic activist and public intellectual, died in the early hours of Tuesday.
A statement signed by Ibrahim kaula Mohammad chief press secretary to the Governor said Governor Radda described the death as a huge loss to the Muslim Ummah, the legal profession and the nation at large, noting that the late SCSN scribe lived a life dedicated to the defense of Islam, justice and public good.

The Governor said Malam Nafiu Baba-Ahmad was a courageous voice, a principled scholar and a committed activist who used his knowledge of law and religion to promote Shariah, unity and moral rectitude in the society.

“His contributions to Islamic scholarship, legal advocacy and community service will remain indelible. Kaduna State has lost one of its illustrious sons who stood firmly for truth and Islamic values,” Governor Radda stated.
Governor Radda, on behalf of the Government and good people of Katsina State, extends heartfelt condolences to Kaduna State Government, family of the deceased, the Supreme Council for Shariah in Nigeria, his associates, and the entire Muslim Ummah.
