…Radda First Governor to Sign 2027 Budget in Nigeria – Speaker Daura
Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, today signed into law the 2027 Appropriation Bill of Eight Hundred and Twenty-Eight Billion, Five Hundred and Seventy-Eight Million, Eight Hundred and Forty-Four Thousand, Ninety-One Naira, Forty-Eight Kobo (N828,578,844,091.48k).
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Governor Radda described the budget as a people’s budget, noting that it was collated from needs assessment across 361 wards in the 34 Local Governments of the state.
The Governor explained that the budget went through three layers of scrutiny – collation from the grassroots, defence by Ministries and Agencies before the Governor, and legislative scrutiny and passage by the State House of Assembly.
He commended the Speaker and members of the State House of Assembly for the early passage, pointing out that the 2027 budget was signed on 30th September, two months earlier than the 2026 budget signed on 17th November last year.
Governor Radda thanked the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning for early preparation of the proposal and charged implementing agencies to ensure timely execution. He prayed for peace in the state and success of the All Progressives Congress at all levels in the forthcoming elections.
LGovernor Radda further extend congratulations to Hon. Tasiu Musa Maigari, lawmaker representing Katsina, on his appointment as Nigeria’s Ambassador to The Gambia, wishing him success in his new assignment.
Earlier, the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura, while presenting the Appropriation Law, disclosed that the House approved N190,726,262,820.44k for Recurrent Expenditure and N637,852,581,271.03k for Capital Expenditure.
The Speaker congratulated Governor Radda for being the first Governor in the country to sign the 2027 Appropriation Law, reaffirmed the loyalty of the Assembly to the APC administration, and appealed to citizens to continue supporting the administration for more development.
The ceremony was witnessed by the Chief Judge of the State, Grand Kadi, Deputy Speaker and principal officers of the Assembly, Secretary to the Government of the State, Head of Service, Chairman of APC, members of the State Executive Council, Clerk of the House and other principal officers of the House.
