The District Head of Makarfi, Alhaji Adamu Abdullahi, has commended the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, for fulfilling his promise to reconstruct and equip the Makarfi General Hospital, describing the project as a testament to the governor’s commitment to improving the welfare of the people.
Alhaji Adamu made the remarks while receiving the Kaduna State Government Media Team led by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Ahmed Maiyaki, and the Commissioner for Health, Hajiya Umma K. Ahmad, during a statewide tour to assess projects executed by the Kaduna State Government over the past three years.
According to the traditional ruler, the Makarfi General Hospital, which was constructed in the early 1970s, had never undergone comprehensive reconstruction or received modern medical equipment until the coming of the Uba Sani administration.
He noted that the transformation of the facility has brought renewed hope to residents of Makarfi and surrounding communities who depend on the hospital for healthcare services.
“It is not easy to find leaders who make promises and keep them. Governor Uba Sani assured us that the hospital would be reconstructed and upgraded, and today he has fulfilled that promise. The people of Makarfi are grateful for this intervention,” he said.
Responding, the Commissioner for Health, Hajiya Umma K. Ahmad, reaffirmed Governor Uba Sani’s commitment to expanding access to quality and affordable healthcare services across Kaduna State, particularly in rural communities.
She explained that the governor places a high premium on the health and well-being of citizens, especially vulnerable populations who often face challenges accessing quality medical care.
“The reconstruction and equipping of Makarfi General Hospital reflects the governor’s vision of ensuring that every resident of Kaduna State, regardless of location, has access to modern and efficient healthcare services. This administration remains committed to doing even more to strengthen healthcare delivery across the state,” she stated.
Patients receiving treatment at the facility also expressed appreciation to the governor for rehabilitating and equipping the hospital, which serves not only Makarfi residents but also neighboring communities.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Sadiya Rabiu, described the transformation as life changing, noting that residents no longer have to travel long distances in search of quality medical care.
“The rehabilitation of this hospital has eased our suffering and brought quality healthcare services closer to our homes. We are grateful to Governor Uba Sani for remembering our community,” she said.
Similarly, another resident, Abdullahi Musa, praised the governor for delivering on his promises and improving healthcare infrastructure in the area.
According to him, the visible impact of the administration’s projects has earned the confidence and support of the people.
The visit formed part of the Kaduna State Government’s efforts to showcase ongoing developmental projects and assess their impact on communities, as Governor Uba Sani continues to implement people centered policies aimed at improving the quality of life of citizens across the state.
