Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has urged freed inmates to be of good conduct and avoid criminal activity that would warrant their imprisonment.

In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibraheem Musa, the Governor made the call while presenting financial assistance of a hundred thousand naira each, to ninety-seven freed inmates he granted clemency in commemoration of this year’s democracy day.

Speaking on his behalf, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Protocol, Alhaji Mohammed Suleiman said he and other officials of the State Government were at the State Medium Security custodial centre to facilitate the last leg of the clemency granted to some inmates.

Also speaking, Officer in charge of the Custodial centre, AC Dalhat Ibrahim noted that the gesture would help in achieving the reformation, rehabilitation and re-integration of the ex-inmates.

He urged the beneficiaries to use the money as working capital, to enable them either start a business or begin life afresh.

In their separate remarks, Chuks Solomon from Ebonyi State and Abubakar Usman expressed their gratitude to the Governor for facilitating their release.
