The Executive Governor of Yobe State, Hon. Mai Mala Buni CON, COMN has approved the upgrade of Primary Healthcare Center Ngelzarma to a General Hospital.

A statement signed by the DG press and media affairs to the Governor, Mal Mamman Mohamed said Gov. Buni gave the approval yesterday, saying this became necessary to meet the medical needs of the growing population in Ngelzarma and the surrounding communities.

“This is in line with the reform declared in the health sector by our administration. Healthcare development occupies a prominent position role on our priority list” he stressed.

The Yobe state government under Gov. Buni had earlier upgraded Eight Primary Healthcare Centers in Bara, Buni Gari, Babbangida, Yunusari, Machina, Jajimaji, Nguru, and Gulani to General Hospitals.

Similarly, four General Hospitals in Potiskum, Gashua, Geidam and Buni Yadi were upgraded to specialist hospitals by the Buni administration.

He assured that government would provide all equipment required for the facility to meet the standard of a General Hospital in equipment and provision of services.
