The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Division Nigerian Army (NA), Major General Adebayo Abdulrahman Babalola, has charged the graduating students of Command Day Secondary School Abeokuta (CDSSA) to remain disciplined and never compromise their integrity by engaging in societal vices such as cultism, cybercrime and other negative influences. He urged them to pursue excellence in all their future endeavours.
A statement signed by Major IdereghiI Samuel Akari,Assistant Director Army Public Relations 35 Artillery Brigade said the GOC gave the charge on Friday 31 July 2026 during the Passing Out Parade (POP) for the graduating SS3 students of the school. He was represented at the occasion by the Commander, 35 Artillery Brigade, Brigadier General Friday Oguche Onu.
The GOC commended the Commandant of the school, Lieutenant Colonel Mansur Buhari Sifawa and the entire management team for their tireless dedication to nurturing the students academically, morally and socially. He encouraged the graduating students to remain focused, curious and committed to hard work, urging them to be worthy ambassadors of the school by upholding the military values of discipline, honour, loyalty and excellence wherever they find themselves.
Major General Babalola also applauded the teachers for their unwavering commitment, patience, creativity and sacrifices in shaping the character and intellect of the students. He further expressed appreciation to the parents and guardians for their support, guidance, sacrifices and continued confidence in the Nigerian Army education system.
Highlights of the event included the Passing Out Parade—the first of its kind in the history of the school, presentation of awards and testimonials to outstanding graduating students and goodwill messages delivered by retired senior military officers.
The ceremony was attended by Commandants of Command Day Secondary Schools from Lagos, serving and retired senior military officers, traditional rulers, government officials, parents, guardians and other distinguished guests.
