Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government, Engr.Jamil Ahmad Muhammad (Jaga), joined the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, CON, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abbas Tajudeen, GCON, at the official commissioning of the 100-bed Renewed Hope Specialist Hospital in Zaria, an impactful project facilitated by the Speaker to strengthen healthcare delivery in the region.
A statement signed by Abdullahi Abubakar lawal SA New Media to the chairman said this landmark intervention reflects a sustained commitment to improving the health sector across Zone One and Kaduna State at large.
The Speaker’s remarkable contributions continue to redefine access to quality healthcare, ranging from the ongoing construction of a College of Nursing and Health Sciences at Gambo Sawaba Hospital, to the completion of a 40-bed Specialist Hospital in Zaria Education City.
Additionally, the construction and equipping of 20-bed Primary Healthcare Centres across eight Local Government Areas, alongside the installation of solar-powered mini grids at ABUTH and Gambo Sawaba Hospital, have significantly enhanced both accessibility and sustainability of healthcare services.
The provision of ambulances to key health facilities has further strengthened emergency response systems within our communities.
The commissioning ceremony was graced by the presence of the Emir of Zazzau, Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, CFR; the Chief Medical Director of ABUTH, Ahmed Umdagas Hamidu; the Honourable Commissioner, Planning and Budget Commission, Muktar Ahmed; the Honourable Commissioner for Health, Ummah Ahmed; and other distinguished personalities.
Engr. Jaga expressed profound appreciation to the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, ably led by Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, for their strategic and impactful intervention in bringing this critical healthcare project to fruition. He commended their dedication to advancing sustainable development through targeted investments in the health sector.
He also extended heartfelt gratitude to the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, and Governor Uba Sani for their visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to improving the wellbeing of the people.
