The National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former President of the Senate, Senator David Mark, and his colleague, Senator Tunde Ogbeha, have felicitated with former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (IBB), on the occasion of his 85th birthday, describing him as a great nationalist whose contributions to the development of modern-day Nigeria remain significant.
In a separate goodwill message to mark the milestone, Senators Mark and Ogbeha commended General Babangida for his service to the nation and his enduring contributions to national development.
Senator Mark said General Babangida’s years of service to Nigeria constituted a significant chapter in the country’s history, noting that his courage, resilience and commitment to the nation remained worthy of recognition.
According to Mark, “Your remarkable journey in the service of Nigeria, marked by courage, resilience and an enduring commitment to the nation, remains a significant chapter in our country’s history.
“As you celebrate this milestone, I salute your contributions to national development and pray that Almighty God grants you continued good health, wisdom and many more years in peace and fulfilment.”
Senator Ogbeha, in his message, warmly congratulated the former Military President and expressed appreciation for his leadership, guidance and enduring example of service to the nation.
He said, “I warmly felicitate with you, Sir, on the occasion of your 85th birthday.
“I remain deeply grateful for your leadership, guidance and enduring example of service to our great nation.
“May Almighty God grant you continued good health, wisdom, strength and many more years in peace and fulfilment.”
The duo urged General IBB to continue to avail the nation of his wealth of experience and wisdom, particularly in providing guidance and counsel to the leadership of Nigeria.
They wished the former Military President many more years of good health, peace and fulfilment.
