The Inspector General of Police,Rilwan Disu, has attended the funeral prayers of three gallant police officers killed in the line of duty along the Bagega–Anka Road in Zamfara State.

The funeral prayers were held at the Police Headquarters in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, and were attended by the Secretary to the State Government, who represented Governor Dauda Lawal, the Theatre Commander of Operation FANSAN YAMMA, top security officers, and other government officials.

Family members of the deceased officers, friends, colleagues, and members of the public were also present to pay their last respects.

The officers were reportedly killed by an explosive device planted by armed bandits while on official duty along the Bagega–Anka axis, an incident that has heightened concern over security in the area.

The fallen officers have been identified as OC EOD SP Abdulrazak Musa Hassan, Inspector Auwal Ahmad, and Inspector Murtala Musa, who paid the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the nation.

In a statement issued to newsmen, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Yazid Abubakar, described the deceased as courageous and dedicated officers whose contributions to safeguarding lives and maintaining peace will never be forgotten.

He noted that their bravery, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to duty remain a testament to their patriotism and sacrifice.

The Command extended its deepest condolences to the families, loved ones, and colleagues of the fallen officers, noting that their loss is deeply felt across the entire police force.

The statement further emphasized that the officers were not only personnel of the force but also mentors, brothers, and defenders of their communities, whose sacrifices highlight the daily risks undertaken by security operatives in the line of duty.
