    IGP DISU HOSTS DEPOWA PRESIDENT AT FORCE HEADQUARTERS, ADVOCATES ENHANCED WELFARE FOR PERSONNEL

    The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Riliwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, has received the President of the Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs. Mernan Femi Oluyede, alongside a high-level delegation, on a courtesy visit at the Force Headquarters, Abuja.

    The delegation comprised the President, Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Chief Mrs. Mutiat Disu; the President, Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), Mrs. Safiya Shuaibu; the President, Naval Officers’ Wives Association (NOWA), Mrs. Aisha Idi Abbas; the President, Nigerian Air Force Officers’ Wives Association (NAFOWA), Mrs. Ngozi Aneke; and the Coordinator, Defence Intelligence Agency Wives Association, Mrs. Jane Undiandeye.

    Discussions during the visit centered on deepening collaboration in support of the Association’s core mandate of promoting the welfare of officers and their families. Commending DEPOWA as a vital pillar of support to security personnel, IGP Disu reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to sustaining welfare initiatives, with emphasis on economic empowerment, psychosocial supports, quality healthcare, and education, as means of boosting personnel morale and operational efficiency.

    The Nigeria Police Force reiterates its appreciation to DEPOWA and similar bodies for their unwavering support to officers and personnel across the security architectures.
