The Zamfara State First Lady, Her Excellency, Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has felicitated with the people of Zamfara State and Nigerians at home and abroad on the occasion of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary, while also celebrating the 30th anniversary of the creation of Zamfara State. She described the twin celebrations as important milestones that call for gratitude, reflection and a renewed commitment to building a peaceful, prosperous and united society.

This was contained in a statement signed by Rabi Yusuf Press Secretary Office of the first lady Zamfara State issued to newsmen.

It said Hajiya Huriyya urged Nigerians, particularly the people of Zamfara State, to continue playing their individual and collective roles in strengthening the nation, noting that the progress of any society depends on the contributions, sacrifices and shared responsibility of its citizens. She said Nigeria’s journey since independence has been marked by both challenges and profound resilience, adding that the anniversary provides an opportunity for citizens to renew their faith in the country and remain dedicated to its growth and development.

Independence is not only a celebration of our past, she stated, but also a reminder of our responsibility to the generations yet unborn. Every Nigerian has a role to play in building the country we desire, and every sacrifice made in the service of our nation will never be in vain.

The First Lady congratulated the people of Zamfara State on 30 years of statehood, describing the milestone as an opportunity to reflect on the journey so far and look forward with renewed hope. She acknowledged the meaningful progress recorded under the leadership of her husband, Governor Dauda Lawal, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare, infrastructure, human capital development and social welfare. She noted that the administration’s reforms and interventions across these critical sectors have laid a strong foundation for sustainable development and significantly improved the wellbeing of citizens.

She stressed, however, that the achievements recorded so far are only the beginning, expressing confidence that more transformative initiatives will follow, particularly in economic empowerment and other areas that directly touch the lives of the people. What we are seeing today is only the beginning, she remarked. There is still much more to be done. With sustained commitment, responsible governance and the continued support and prayers of our people, Zamfara will achieve even greater milestones in the years ahead.

Hajiya Huriyya called for continued peace, unity and mutual understanding among the people of Zamfara, stressing that meaningful development can only thrive in an atmosphere of security and collective responsibility. She prayed that Almighty Allah would continue to protect Nigeria, bless its people and guide its leaders with wisdom and sincerity, while granting Zamfara State lasting peace, security, prosperity and continued development.

She concluded by wishing all Nigerians a Happy 66th Independence Anniversary and the good people of Zamfara State a Happy 30th Anniversary, offering prayers for a brighter, more peaceful and prosperous future for all.
