Islamic clerics have prayed for the victory of the Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, in his bid for a second term in the 2027 general elections.
The group of clerics, who participated in this year’s Hajj through the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, commenced a week-long prayer session for peace to reign in Kano State and Nigeria at large.
The Ulamas, led by Sheikh Ali Dan Abba, expressed their support for the Governor based on his performance, integrity, and commitment to the progress and prosperity of Kano State.
This was contained in a press release issued by Mustapha Muhammad, Head of the Media Team, Kano Hajj Operation 2026.
Sheikh Ali Dan Abba, who is also the Commissioner of the Kano State Sharia Commission, said the prayers were offered for the Governor’s successful re-election bid and for Allah’s intervention in bringing an end to thuggery and hooliganism in Kano State.
All 12 Ulamas present at the mosque in Makkah, including the Special Adviser on Inter-Party Relations, Goni Auwal Mukhtar, and the Special Adviser II on Religious Affairs, Sheikh Alin Bichi, individually offered prayers for the success of Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf.
