The Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad Jaga, today, Wednesday, 2nd September 2026, attended the August 2026 Joint Account Allocation Committee (JAAC) Technical Session held in Kaduna.

It said the session was convened by the Kaduna State Ministry of Local Government Affairs as part of the statutory monthly process for the coordination and allocation of funds accruing to the 23 Local Government Councils from the Federation Account.
The JAAC Technical Session was chaired by the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos, followed by the JAAC Plenary Session, which was chaired by the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State and Chairman of the JAAC, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe. The two sessions formed part of the same statutory monthly JAAC proceedings aimed at promoting effective fiscal coordination, transparency, accountability and prudent management of public resources across the State.
The meeting brought together key government officials, the Chairmen of the 23 Local Government Councils, Directors of the Ministry and representatives of relevant government institutions and agencies.
Among those in attendance were the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government Affairs, Dr. Mahmud Lawal; Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Local Government, Hon. Usman Lado Dan Daura; Technical Assistant to the Governor, Hajiya Zarah Askira; Directors of the Ministry; the Commander of the Kaduna State Vigilante Service, as well as representatives of SUBEB, the Office of the Accountant General, Kaduna State Primary Health Care Board, Bureau for Pensions, Local Government Service Board and Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service among other stakeholders.
Deliberations during the sessions centred on fiscal coordination, transparency, accountability and the efficient management and allocation of public resources, with particular emphasis on strengthening service delivery and promoting sustainable, people-centred development across the 23 Local Government Areas of Kaduna State.
The participation of Chairman Jaga at the JAAC proceedings demonstrates his commitment to responsible financial management, effective collaboration with the Kaduna State Government and other Local Government Councils, and the judicious utilisation of public resources for the benefit of the people of Zaria Local Government.
The session also featured a surprise birthday celebration in honour of the Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, who clocked 60 years. Members of the JAAC Committee and government officials joined in celebrating the Deputy Governor, while acknowledging her years of dedicated service and contributions to the development and progress of Kaduna State.
The meeting concluded with a renewed commitment by the Kaduna State Government and relevant stakeholders to uphold sound financial management practices, strengthen institutional coordination and promote inclusive, people-centred development at the grassroots level.
