The Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad (Jaga), joined our leader and boss, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen GCON, Speaker of the House of Representatives, on an extensive inspection tour of ongoing projects being facilitated across Zaria on Friday last week.

This was contained in a statement signed by Abdullahi Abubakar lawal SA New Media to the chairman issued to newsmen.

It said the day began at Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, where the delegation inspected the ongoing construction of the College of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, College of Agriculture, and Sports Academy projects designed to expand educational opportunities and strengthen human capital development in Zaria. Alhamdulillah Most of the buildings had reached 50% completion.

From there, they proceeded to Filin Idin Katsinawa, where the construction of a Women Development Centre is ongoing, reflecting the importance of empowering women and creating opportunities for inclusive community development.

After performing Jumu’ah prayer at Abdullahi Ibn Abbas Jumu’ah Mosque, Kwarbai A, the delegation continued to Banzazzau, inspecting the ongoing construction of a Secondary School for Persons with Disabilities and a Secondary School for Orphans projects that demonstrate a commitment to ensuring that no child is left behind because of their circumstances.

The inspection continued at Nagoyi, where the Zaria Technology Village, comprising a Technology Incubation Centre and ICT Centre, is under construction. This project represents an important investment in technology, innovation, entrepreneurship and the future of young people in Zaria.

The team thereafter inspected the ongoing Kofar Doka and Agoro bridges, before proceeding to the Zaria Education City at Kofar Gayan, where construction is ongoing for institutions including the College of Education, National Open University and College of Nursing Sciences.

Beyond project inspection, the day also reflected the human side of leadership.

The delegation visited An-Nadah Hospital in Tudun Wada to check on and pray for the Speaker’s stepmother, who is currently receiving medical attention. They prayed for her speedy recovery and good health.

They also visited the family of late Zuwaira Muhammad Sahabi at Layin Rimi, Tudun Wada, to extend their condolences and pray for Allah’s forgiveness and mercy upon her soul.

The delegation further paid a condolence visit to the family of late Sheikh Khalid, who tragically lost his life alongside three of his children in a road accident. Prayers were offered for the forgiveness and eternal rest of the deceased, while the family was encouraged to remain strong during this difficult period.

And Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen GCON reaffirmed his determination to complete the ongoing school Sheikh is personally and voluntarily constructing for the community, demonstrating that leadership is not only about public projects but also about responding directly to the needs of communities.

From classrooms to bridges, from technology centres to educational institutions, and from project supervision to visiting grieving families.

For Zaria, development is not merely about infrastructure, it is about people, opportunity, education, inclusion and humanity.
