The Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government, Engr.Jamil Ahmad Muhammad (Jaga), has continued his people-centered leadership with a series of engagements aimed at promoting agricultural development, youth empowerment, improved healthcare delivery, and community welfare across the Local Government.

It said the Chairman’s day commenced with his attendance at the Salatul Janazah of the father of Zainab, where he joined family members and sympathizers in praying for the repose of the deceased’s soul.
Thereafter, Engr. Jaga served as the Special Guest of Honour at the official flag-off of the Renewed Hope Small Holder Support and Value Chain Fund (RH-SHF) Agricultural Loan Distribution Programme for farmers. The initiative, organized by Yusuf Kubau, Managing Director of Kubau General Merchant Limited, was held at Nasara Mini Stadium, Kofar Doka, Zaria.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman described the programme as a timely intervention that will enhance agricultural productivity, strengthen food security, and improve the livelihoods of smallholder farmers. He commended the organizers for complementing government efforts in supporting low-income farmers and encouraged other well-meaning individuals and organizations to invest in similar initiatives that directly impact vulnerable members of society.
Following the event, Engr. Jaga supervised the ongoing Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) Training and Empowerment Programme, facilitated by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, GCON.
The programme is designed to train and empower 350 beneficiaries drawn from the 13 wards of Zaria Local Government in Project Management, Solar Panel Maintenance, Solar Power Installation, Welding and Fabrication, Bag and Fashion Skills, Youth Empowerment, and Rigging & Scaffolding.
Participants will receive practical training, starter packs and working equipment, a ₦250,000 business start-up grant, daily lunch, and a ₦5,000 transportation allowance throughout the training period.
Addressing the trainees, Engr. Jaga urged them to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to acquiring the knowledge and practical skills that will enable them to become self-reliant and contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic development of their communities.
At the Zaria Local Government Secretariat, the Chairman later met with Primary Health Care Facility Managers to deliberate on critical issues bordering on the improvement of healthcare service delivery and the maintenance of health facilities across the Local Government Area.
The Chairman also received separate courtesy visits from NAFSAT and the Jushi APC Committee, during which discussions centered on issues of mutual interest and community development.
As part of his commitment to standing with the people during moments of grief, Engr. Jaga concluded the day with condolence visits to the family of Alhaji Auwal Na Baffa in Layin Rimi, Tudun Wada; Alhaji Sabo (Cidiyar Marayu) over the passing of his beloved wife in PZ, Zaria; the family of Isa Painter in Gyallesu following the demise of his wife; and the family of Hon. Yakubu Soja over the death of his younger sister.
The Executive Chairman prayed for Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the departed, grant them Aljannatul Firdaus, and comfort their families during this difficult time.
