The Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad Jaga, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Dauda Ali Biu, describing his passing as a monumental loss to his family, the Sabon-Gari community, Zazzau Emirate, Kaduna State, and Nigeria at large.
In a statement signed by Galadima Ishaq Chief Press Secretary, Office of the Executive Chairman, Zaria Local Government Council ,Engr. Jaga extended his heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, the Executive Chairman of Sabon-Gari Local Government, Hon. Sheikh Jamil Abubakar (Albani Samaru Zaria), the people of Sabon-Gari, the Zazzau Emirate Council, the Kaduna State Government, the entire FRSC family, and all Nigerians mourning this painful loss.
The late Dauda Ali Biu, who passed away on Sunday evening, 11th October 2026, at a medical facility in Abuja after a brief illness, was laid to rest at Hayin-Ojo Cemetery in Sabon Gari District, Sabon Gari Local Government Area of Kaduna State, on Monday, 12th October 2026.
The Janaza prayer was led by the Railway Imam, Malam Shariff Danlami, and attended by His Highness, the Emir of Zazzau, Malam Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, CFR.
The funeral prayer also attracted members of the Zazzau Emirate Council, District Heads, senior government officials, heads of security agencies, politicians, and thousands of sympathisers from within and outside Kaduna State, who gathered to pay their final respects to the deceased.
The Chairman described the late Dauda Ali Biu as a gallant, dedicated, and accomplished officer who served the nation meritoriously through the Federal Road Safety Corps, rising to the highest position of Corps Marshal in January 2023 before his retirement in 2024. He noted that his years of service reflected a commitment to public safety, discipline, and national service.
Jaga further observed that the death of the former Corps Marshal represents a significant loss of an experienced public servant whose contributions to road safety administration and national development will be remembered.
The Chairman prayed that Almighty Allah grant the bereaved family the strength, patience, and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss, particularly his wife and five children, who have been left behind to cherish his memory.
He also prayed for Allah’s forgiveness and mercy upon the deceased, the acceptance of his good deeds, and his eternal repose in Jannatul Firdaus.
