The Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council Engr Jamil Ahmad Muhammad Jaga undertook a series of official engagements across Zaria on Saturday, 8th August, 2026, as part of the administration’s continued commitment to public service, institutional support, education, infrastructure development, community engagement and the overall wellbeing of the people of Zaria Local Government.

It said the days engagement commenced with the Chairman serving as the Chairman of the Occasion at the 1st Anniversary of the Zaria City Fire Station, held alongside the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a Multipurpose Hall at the Federal Fire Service, Zaria Area Command, Abdulrauf Jikamshin Zazzau Complex, Works Department, Zaria.
It said the Chairman expressed satisfaction with the impact of the Zaria City Fire Station, which was constructed through the intervention of the Zaria Local Government Council. He noted that the establishment of the station has significantly strengthened emergency response and enhanced the protection of lives and property within Zaria and its surrounding communities.
According to the Kaduna State Controller of the Federal Fire Service, DCF Aminu Ahmadu, the station has, since its establishment, contributed to saving lives and properties estimated at over ₦6.9 billion that could otherwise have been lost to fire incidents.
The Special Guest of Honour, ACG Ahmed Garba Karaye, Zonal Controller, Zone B, commended the intervention of Zaria Local Government and noted that the Council was the only one among Nigeria’s 774 Local Government Areas to have extended such significant support to the Federal Fire Service.
The Chairman appreciated the Federal Fire Service for its dedication and commitment to protecting the lives and property of the people. He also commended Alh. Mal. Umar Magaji Dan Aljanna for voluntarily sponsoring the construction of the new Multipurpose Hall, describing the initiative as a commendable demonstration of partnership, philanthropy and community spirit.
The Chairman subsequently attended the NAZAS Week 2026 Grand Finale and Excellence Awards Ceremony at the Federal University of Education, Zaria, organised under the theme, “Celebrating Unity, Honouring Excellence, and Preserving Our Heritage.”
During the ceremony, the Chairman received an Award of Excellence in recognition of his contribution to education. While expressing appreciation for the recognition, he encouraged the students to remain focused on their education and academic pursuits. He further assured the organisers and education stakeholders that the Zaria Local Government Council would remain open to collaboration and initiatives aimed at advancing education and supporting students.
The Chairman also attended a seminar on the Virtues and Prominence of Sheikh Usman Ibn Fodio, organised by the Shura Council of the Qadiriyya Order, Zaria. He expressed appreciation for the kind words and recognition extended to him and acknowledged the importance of initiatives that promote Islamic scholarship, knowledge and positive community development.
As part of his engagements, the Chairman paid condolence visits to the families of the late Engr. Alhaji Saidu, father of Makaman Malaman Zazzau, Alhaji Sani Yusuf Magaji, and the father of Ibrahim Baban Ja’e, Chief Magistrate of Kaduna State.
The Chairman prayed to Almighty Allah to forgive the deceased, grant them Aljannatul Firdaus and give their respective families the strength, patience and fortitude to bear the loss.
On his way back, the Chairman inspected the ongoing Rimin Doko Road Project in Kaura Ward, facilitated by the distinguished leader, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen. The inspection underscores the administration’s continued interest in infrastructure development and the importance of improving road connectivity, accessibility and economic activities across communities within Zaria Local Government.
The Chairman reiterated that infrastructure development remains critical to improving the living conditions of residents and facilitating socio-economic growth across the Local Government.
The day was rounded off with the Chairman’s attendance at the Kaduna State House of Assembly Former Members Awareness Forum, Zone One APC (The Honourables). The engagement provided an opportunity to reaffirm commitment to the party, strengthen unity and demonstrate collective support for party leaders and candidates.
The series of engagements reflected the multifaceted responsibilities of the Zaria Local Government administration, covering emergency response, infrastructure development, education, religious affairs, community relations, humanitarian support and stakeholder engagement.
The Chairman expressed appreciation to all institutions, organisations, traditional and religious leaders, community members and individuals who continue to support initiatives aimed at advancing the development of Zaria Local Government
He reaffirmed that his administration remains committed to responsive leadership, partnership, accountability and dedicated service to the people, while praying to Almighty Allah to continue to guide, strengthen and grant the administration the wisdom and capacity to serve the people better.
