Hon.Mohammed Bello (Sarkin Arewan Bolari), a House of Representatives aspirant for the Gombe/Kwami/Funakaye Federal Constituency under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), while backing the governorship bid of Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna.
This was contained in a statement signed by the media aide to Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna Gombe State APC Gubernatorial candidate, issued to newsmen.
According to Bello, his decision was a strategic step toward building stronger political synergy and advancing the development agenda of Gombe State.
“This decision did not come lightly. It is the outcome of wide consultations with my supporters, grassroots mobilizers, and respected community leaders who believe that aligning with the APC at this critical time will better position us to deliver meaningful representation and development to our people.”
He further emphasized that the move reflected a broader political realignment within the state, noting that the party is witnessing a growing consensus among stakeholders on the need for unity, coordination, and a shared vision.
The aspirant commended Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna for his leadership qualities and developmental blueprint, describing him as “a unifying figure whose vision continues to inspire confidence and attract widespread support across Gombe State.”
Reaffirming his loyalty to the APC, the aspirant pledged to mobilize support at all levels and work closely with party leaders and stakeholders to strengthen the party’s structure in the constituency.
The defection attracted a large crowd of supporters, youth groups, and community representatives, many of whom expressed enthusiasm about the development, describing it as a positive step toward a more inclusive and development-driven representation in the constituency.
