The visit comes amid reported successes by troops in the fight against insurgency, including the killing of dozens of terrorists while repelling an attack in Kukawa Local Government Area of Borno State.
However, the visit follows a recent attack by insurgents on a military base in Mairari, Guzamala Local Government Area, where several soldiers and civilians were reportedly killed.
The Army Chief is expected to receive operational briefings from sector commanders and participate in other activities scheduled for the visit.
