The Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, in conjunction with the Kaduna State Primary Health Care Agency, has commenced the vaccination of intending pilgrims as part of preparations for a successful 2026 Hajj exercise.

A statement signed by the board public relations officer Ibrahim Datti said the statewide vaccination exercise, which began today, 21st April 2026, is a critical component of the health and safety requirements for pilgrimage to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

It said the exercise is being conducted at designated Port Health Services centres across the state, with seven strategically selected locations to ensure easy access and full coverage for all intending pilgrims.

According to the statement, the designated centres and the Local Government Areas they serve are as follows:

Kaduna Government Health Centre – Kaduna North, Kaduna South, Chikun, and Igabi Local Government Areas, including the Headquarters Registration Centre and Hajj Saving Scheme (HSS).

Zaria Government Health Centre – Zaria, Sabon Gari, Soba, and Kudan Local Government Areas.

Ikara Government Health Centre – Ikara, Kubau, and Makarfi Local Government Areas.

Saminaka Government Health Centre – Lere and Kauru Local Government Areas.

Kachia Government Health Centre – Kachia, Zangon Kataf, Kajuru, and Kagarko Local Government Areas.

Kafanchan Government Health Centre – Jema’a, Kaura, Sanga, and Jaba Local Government Areas.

Birnin Gwari Government Health Centre – Birnin Gwari Local Government Area.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, the Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Malam Salihu S. Abubakar, emphasized the importance of the exercise. He noted that vaccination is mandatory for all intending pilgrims, as it remains a key requirement for entry into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

He urged all pilgrims to report promptly to their designated centres, stressing that strict compliance with the vaccination schedule will ensure a smooth, safe, and hitch-free Hajj operation.
