Bayero University, Kano has received a donation of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) from the Kano State Centre for Disease Control (KNCDC) to strengthen disease prevention and infection control across the University.
The items were presented during a courtesy visit by the Director-General of KNCDC, Professor Muhammad Adamu Abbas, on Tuesday, 25th August, 2026, who reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to deepening collaboration with BUK in outbreak prevention, detection and response.
Receiving the delegation, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Haruna Musa, fsi, expressed appreciation for the gesture, noting that the donation would significantly enhance efforts to safeguard students’ health and promote a cleaner, safer hostel environment.
Beyond today’s donation of face masks, gowns, examination gloves and surgical gloves, KNCDC has also supported the University through the supply of essential medicines and laboratory materials, as well as the training of a University Health Services laboratory scientist on sample management, transportation and referral.
