The Katsina State Government has moved forward with its economic development plan by taking an active part in the CIAN Africa Investment Summit in Paris, France.

A statement from the state media directorate said the delegation, led by Deputy Governor Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe on behalf of Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, engaged with global investors and held high-level discussions aimed at attracting sustainable investments into the state.

It said during the summit, Deputy Governor Lawal showcased the state’s economic potentials in sectors like mineral resources, agriculture, skills development, climate change, and education.

Malam Lawal explained that the sectors have strong potential for job creation and industrial expansion.

In a major achievement, the delegation successfully established five business-to-business partnerships.

“These partnerships focus on sustainable agricultural practices. They aim to enhance food security, develop solid minerals, strengthen skills training, transfer technology, and improve transportation for students, public servants, and farmers,” the Deputy Governor explained.

The delegation also held a productive meeting with the Finland Embassy where the parties agreed to explore strategic cooperation focused on agri-business development, youth and women empowerment, and skills acquisition, where modern farming and vocational training initiatives will be explored.

According to the Deputy Governor, “Katsina is always at the forefront in positioning itself as an investment-ready destination. It is committed to inclusive growth and sustainable development.”

The delegation included Economic Adviser Khalil Nur Khalil, Lead Consultant Harun Abba Gana, Commissioner of Commerce Hon. Bishir Yusuf Jirdede, Director General of Katsina State Investment Promotion Agency Alh. Ibrahim Tukur Jikamshi, and Executive Secretary of Katsina State Development Management Board Malam Mustapha Shehu.
