The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Katsina State Radio Chapel, commend and appreciate the Katsina State Government under the able leadership of His Excellency, Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, and the management of Katsina State Radio Service under the leadership of the General Manager, Malam Lawal Attahiru Bakori, for the remarkable transformation and developmental strides recorded at the station.
This followed a familiarization visit conducted by the Union to the radio station and the main broadcasting station located in Dutsinma.
The Chapel acknowledges with great satisfaction the installation of solar power systems at Katsina State Radio headquarters and the Dutsinma station, a significant intervention that has restored the stability of broadcasting operations and ensured the continuous transmission of quality programmes to listeners across Katsina State and beyond.
The provision of alternative power through solar energy has greatly improved the efficiency of the station, enabling journalists, producers, and other staff members to discharge their responsibilities effectively while ensuring that the public continues to receive timely information, education, enlightenment, and entertainment.
The NUJ Katsina State Radio Chapel also recognizes the extensive renovation and rehabilitation works carried out at both the Katsina and Dutsinma facilities. These improvements have transformed the working environment, enhanced the dignity of the station, and provided better conditions for staff to deliver professional and impactful broadcasting services.
The Chapel particularly appreciates the commitment and foresight of the General Manager, Malam Lawal Attahiru Bakori, whose leadership has contributed immensely to the growth and repositioning of Katsina State Radio Service. His dedication to improving the station’s infrastructure and operational capacity is worthy of commendation.
The NUJ further extends its profound gratitude and appreciation to His Excellency, Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, for his continued support and commitment towards strengthening public institutions and promoting effective communication through the state-owned media.
The Chapel believes that these achievements represent a new chapter in the history of Katsina State Radio and will further enhance its role as a reliable platform for information dissemination, good governance, public awareness, and community development.
The Nigeria Union of Journalists, Katsina State Radio Chapel, therefore pledges its continued support and cooperation towards ensuring that the station maintains the highest standards of professionalism, credibility, and service to the people of Katsina State.
