The emerging healthy political development should be considered as a clear notice for the present generation of ambitious and desperate politicians, claiming special status in the society based on positions held and allegedly opportuned to accumulated questionable wealth and properties and comes to terms with the reality that deception under any guise, will never change the People’s patriotic mind set.
Comrade Governor Nasir Idris of the All Progressive Congress (APC) was known for his philanthropic gestures and humanitarian services to communities long before he ventured into partisan politics and now delivering unprecedented infrastructure, education, health care, aged, education security and economic empowerment in the state.
The achievements recorded, in infrastructure and socio-economic development so far, must have informed the decision of a broad coalition of the All Progressive Congress (APC) stakeholders to, last weekend organised a Unity Rally in Birnin Kebbi.
The attendees at the Unity Rally, the fourth of its kind in the last three years, included and all the former state governors, former and serving ministers, serving and former national and state Assemblies members, prominent party elders, chief executives of the federal government’s agencies and commissions as well as the leadership of party from the ward to the National levels.
The massive turn out of people from all parts of the state has demostrated the strength of the party, sincere loyalty and genuine commitment of the membership that provided an opportunity to celebrate the achievements so far recorded by president Bola Tinubu and Comrade Governor Nasir Idris at both the national and sub-national levels.
In view of the unprecedented development achieved by the leaders, acknowledged and appreciated by the people and the need to sustain the increasing political awareness and socio-economic development, the marmount crowd unanimously passed a vote of absolute confidence and endosed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Comrade Governor Nasir Idris for second term tenure in 2027.
In his remarks, the visibly elated Comrade Governor Nasir Idris expressed profound gratitude to Allah for granting him the opportunity, courage and wisdom to provide purposeful leadership that have positively transformed and significantly improved the well-being of the people.
To the members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and indeed the entire people of kebbi state, he appreciated their unwavering support and requested continuous support for sustained development in the future.
For the unanimous endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his humble self for 2027, Comrade Nasir Idris said he expected the resolution in view of the remarkable development achieved in the state, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
In his brief remarks, the National Organising Secretary of the All Progressive Congress, Alhaji Suleiman Muhammad Argungu Jarma observed that the endorsement of President Bola Tinubu and Comrade Governor Nasir Idris by the members of the party in the state was done with sincerity of purpose and appreciation of the development recorded that undisputably improved the socio-economic fortunes of the people.
Therefore, there’s no gain saying that the ambitious governorship aspirants, opportuned served at high positions and allegedly accumulated questionable wealth and properties but failed to make meaningful impacts on the lives of their communities, should have a rethink
It is a common knowledge that some of them, particularly the former Minister of Justice Abubakar Malami of the Advance Democratic Party (ADC) alleged to have massively acquired enormous wealth through questionable means was being prosecuted on multiple allegations by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, the Directorate of State Security Service and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commissio
In his demostrated desperation for the governorship candidature of the opposition party, he was alleged to be engaged in different campaigns of calumny aimed at sabotaging the second term bid for President Tinubu and Comrade Governor Nasir Idris.
In the process, out of desperation and hopelessness, he was allegedly engaging mischief makers, comedians, drug addicts, and political thugs including prostitutes to rubbish the legacy of developmental programmes being executed by Comrade Governor Nasir Idris.
That they allegedly do, through production and transmission of deceptive radio and video fabricated falsehood and mischievous allegations against Governor Nasir kauran Gwandu.
Now that the sources of the alleged ill gotten wealth are being investigated, the situation should be an eye opener for the people of Kebbi State on who to give their mandate for governorship and other elective positions position, based on antecedent and track record of selfless and exemplary leadership in 2027.
