Hon. Mahmud Lawal Isra’ila, member Kaduna state house of assembly Representing Zaria has joined the committee constituted by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, CON, to witness the continuation of payment of compensation to Project Affected Persons (PAPs) under the ACReSAL Project in Zaria.
The exercise covers persons affected by the 11.6-kilometre Zaria Flood and Gully Erosion Control Project, which includes areas around Kofar Jatau, Unguwan Zaria, Unguwan Alkali, Kofar Doka, Unguwan Fatika, Kaura, Amaru, Kofar Doka, Magume, Kamacaha, Tukur-Tukur and other locations along the Zaria axis.
In a statement by Hon. Mahmud Lawal Ismaila, Esq.Member, Kaduna State House of Assembly Representing Zaria City Constituency Deputy Chief Whip and
Chairman, House Committee on Education revealed that the project involves the construction of concrete drainage channels, culverts, fencing and bio-remediation to control gully erosion, mitigate flooding, and protect lives and property.
The Lawmaker said ” I conveyed the appreciation of the people of Zaria to His Excellency, Governor Uba Sani, for ensuring that those affected by the project are adequately compensated. Importantly, the compensation covers not only land and structures but also economic trees and crops affected by the project”.
The beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to the Governor and pledged their support and cooperation towards the successful completion of the project.
“This initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to protecting communities, improving livelihoods and building climate-resilient infrastructure, ” he said.
