The Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government, Engr.Jamil Ahmad Muhammad (Jaga), has handed over visas and flight tickets to the second batch of 11 beneficiaries sponsored by him to perform the Lesser Hajj.
A statement signed by Abubakar Abdullahi Lawal, special assistant to the chairman on new media said the beneficiaries are scheduled to depart on Tuesday, with each pilgrim also receiving a stipend of 800 Saudi Riyals, equivalent to ₦320,000, to support them during their spiritual journey.
This follows the sponsorship of the first batch of four beneficiaries, comprising:
* Auwal Balarabe (Speaker, Zaria Local Government Council)
* Adamu Jibril (Majority Leader)
* Jamilu Iliyasu and
* Malam Saidu Abduljalal
The second batch comprises:
* Abubakar Yahaya
* Ahmad Muhammad
* Ibrahim Hassan (Councillor, Tudun Wada)
* Muntaka Maiwada Goga
* Aisha Sani
* Shafiu Zubairu
* Kamilu Ashafa
* Auwal Abdullahi
* Abdulmalik Ahmad Dudu
* Aminu Musa
* Musa Sani
While handing over the travel documents and stipends, Engr. Jaga urged the pilgrims to use the opportunity to offer special prayers for Nigeria, asking Allah to help the country overcome its difficulties and challenges.
He also urged them to remember the nation’s leaders in their prayers and to pray for continued peace, stability and progress in the country.
Engr. Jaga wished all the pilgrims a safe journey, an accepted and spiritually rewarding Lesser Hajj, and a safe return home.
