    MAJOR GENERAL ETIM BOWS OUT OF NASI…Leaving Behind a Legacy of Excellence in Military Training

    In a colourful and dignified military handing and taking over ceremony marked by tradition, pride and emotion, the 43rd Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Infantry (NASI), Major General Frank Sunday Etim, formally relinquished command as he proceeds to the Nigerian Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) as the Chief of Training (COT).

    A statement signed by Captain Shamsudeen Umar , Acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations Nigerian Army School of Infantry said he  handed over the mantle of leadership to Major General Muhammad Nura Inuwa, who assumed command as the 44th Commandant of NASI.

    Delivering his farewell address, Major General Etim charged officers, soldiers and instructors of NASI to remain steadfast in sustaining the high training standards and operational excellence achieved during his tenure. He reminded personnel that NASI bears the responsibility of producing professionally competent, combat-ready and mission-oriented officers and soldiers for the Nigerian Army.

    He further urged all ranks to accord the incoming Commandant their unwavering loyalty, cooperation and maximum support in the discharge of his mandate, while reminding them that the school’s enduring motto remains, “Yield to Nothing.”

    Major General Etim reaffirmed his enduring commitment to the Nigerian Army School of Infantry, assuring personnel that despite his new appointment, NASI would always hold a special place in his heart. He pledged his continued support whenever required, maintaining that his office would remain accessible to the school in advancing the Nigerian Army’s training objectives and operational preparedness.

    In his remarks, the incoming Commandant, Major General Muhammad Nura Inuwa, expressed profound appreciation to the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General W Shaibu (NAM) for the confidence reposed in him through his appointment as Commandant of NASI. He commended Major General Etim for his exemplary leadership, professionalism and remarkable contributions to strengthening the school’s training architecture. He assured all present that he would consolidate on the solid foundation laid by his predecessor, while sustaining the established standards of excellence and further enhance the school’s capacity to deliver combat-focused, doctrine-driven training.

    The ceremony featured the formal signing of the handing and taking over notes, the symbolic presentation of the NASI Command Flag to the incoming Commandant, inspection of the Quarter Guard and hoisting of the Command Flag.
