Readers need not be surprised by the writer’s decision to commend Deputy Senate President, Hon. Barau Jibrin Maliya.

As Special Assistant on Media to the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, the writer designed a poster to visualize Maliya’s political trajectory in Kano and at the national level.

Through Maliya’s strategic influence, Providence facilitated the appointment of Ata as Minister of State. This development embodies the Hausa maxim, “Ruwan da ya dake ka, shine ruwa” — the water that touches you is the true water. Such a principle of reciprocity provides the framework for the analysis that follows.

Building on that context, Hon Barau Jibrin’s rise has been captured in poster form that dramatizes his journey as one of resilience, ambition, and destiny.

The imagery of the Kano Emir’s Palace entrance, the APC flag, and crowds in celebration, warm reception and ruptured in joy and jubilations conveys public acceptance and legitimacy.

This visualization is not mere art. It situates his successful trajectory within Kano and Nigerian politics, where providence and strategy often converge.

That convergence is evident in how he has managed political processes.

Maliya has shown the ability to overcome the difficult scheming that often precedes party primaries. He has demonstrated resilience in building alliances, managing expectations, and maintaining composure under pressure. His calm demeanour, often marked by a smile, reflects this composure.

The result is more than a personal achievement. It reflects strength and continuity of governance in the Senate. In Abuja, he has earned respect for balancing loyalty to party structures with attention to national priorities.

The public response to his success is therefore tied to the responsibility that accompanies leadership.

In sum, Maliya’s rise illustrates how providence and political strategy can shape not just a leader’s path, but also the country’s democratic future. His journey, now captured in a poster, stands as both an account of resilience and a reminder of the continuity that defines Kano and Nigeria’s political landscape.

As the 2027 general election approaches, may the power of Providence guide the Deputy Senate President, Hon. Barau Jibrin, with wisdom, integrity, and success in his aspirations and service to the nation.
