In an effort to control the number of unmarried people in the state,one thousand couples were screened and got married organised by the state government in its program of mass weeding across thirty four local governments in the state.
In Funtua zone it’s up twenty nine couples where tied to their nuptial not,
Speaking in Funtua the permanent secretary ministry of religious affairs Mal Abdullaziz Katsina who oversees the ceremony in the eleven local governments said all necessary arrangements where provided by the state government to ensure the smooth take off of the program.
The permanent secretary disclosed that all the weeding needs,which includes, dowries, furniture,as well as food items were provided to all the weeded couples.
Mall Abdulaziz disclosed that apart from the dowries,there was an empowerment of 150k to the brides which will enable them support themselves while in their matrimonial homes.
He said this will no doubt check the rampant spread of social vices in the society as well as the state in general.
In his remarks the Sarkin Maskan Katsina district head of Funtua Alh sambo Idris sambo commended the state government for the initiative across the state.
Alh Sambo Idriss sambo stated that this will no doubt reduce the rising number of divorcees in the community .
The Sarkin Maskan Katsina urged the newly weeded couples to be tolerant and reciprocate the gesture through upholding the virtues of marriage so as to achieve the desired goals.
