    As part of activities marking the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2026, Headquarters 81 Division Nigerian Army held a Special Jumuaat Prayer at the 81 Division Central Mosque, Dodan Barracks, Obalende, Lagos.

    Delivering the Chief of Army Staff’s goodwill message, the General Officer Commanding 81 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Adebayo Abdulrahman Babalola, represented by the Commander 81 Division Garrison, Brigadier General AI Getso, said the prayer session was an opportunity to thank Almighty Allah for His mercies, reflect on the Nigerian Army’s accomplishments, honour fallen heroes, and renew commitment to national service.

    He commended officers and soldiers for their sacrifices and professionalism in defending the nation, noting that the Nigerian Army has remained a symbol of patriotism, resilience, and unwavering commitment to Nigeria’s sovereignty throughout its 163-year history.

    The GOC also highlighted the NADCEL 2026 theme, “Protecting the Nation and Serving the People: A Way Forward for the Nigerian Army,” describing it as a call for reflection, renewal, and rededication to the Nigerian Army’s core values. He reiterated the Chief of Army Staff’s commitment to a professional, combat-ready, and welfare-driven force under the “Soldier First” concept.

    He further appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his continued support to the Armed Forces and paid tribute to officers and soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in defence of the nation.

    A statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Musa Yahaya Acting Deputy’ director army public relations 81 division Nigerian army said the prayer session was led by the Acting Deputy Director, 81 Division Islamic Affairs and Chief Imam, Lieutenant Colonel Husein Eleje, who offered prayers for Nigeria, its leaders, members of the Armed Forces, and personnel deployed in various operational theatres.

    The special Jummuat Prayers was attended by formation commanders, staff officers, senior officers, officers, soldiers, members of NAOWA and NASWA, and other distinguished guests and Muslim faithfuls.
