The Deputy Chief of Operations, Major General IA Ajose, has commended troops who participated in Operation ATILEYIN ALAAFIA II and Operation SAFE CONDUCT for their courage, discipline and professionalism in the successful discharge of their assigned missions. The commendation was reinforced by the Commander, Nigerian Army Women Corps (NAWC), Brigadier General MS Adamu, during his visit to troops at the Nigerian Army Forward Operating Base, Airport Road, Abuja, on 21 August 2026.
The successful conduct of Operation ATILEYIN ALAAFIA II and Operation SAFE CONDUCT underscores the Nigerian Army’s readiness and capacity to deploy well-trained forces in support of Nigeria’s national and regional security objectives. It also reflects the professionalism, resilience and adaptability of Nigerian Army personnel in responding effectively to diverse security challenges within and beyond the nation’s borders.
On behalf of the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, Brigadier General Adamu hosted a dinner in honour of female troops returning from Operation ATILEYIN ALAAFIA II in the Republic of Benin, as well as personnel deployed on Operation FLASH FLUSH in Osun State. He applauded the troops for their resilience, courage and exemplary conduct, noting that female soldiers continue to distinguish themselves in critical operational roles and contribute significantly as force multipliers across theatres of operation.
The Commander urged the troops to sustain the high standards of discipline, professionalism and operational readiness for future assignments. He reaffirmed the Nigerian Army’s commitment to providing female personnel with opportunities to contribute meaningfully to operational effectiveness, national security and regional peace and stability.
