    NCAT Rector Hosts Induction Ceremony of Staff and Students into the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIoTA)

    The Rector/Chief Executive of the Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria, Dr. Danjuma A. Ismaila, has hosted the induction ceremony of NCAT staff and students into the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIoTA).

    A statement from the College said the event, held at the College’s Modern Ultra Auditorium, brought together members of the College Management, staff, students, and officials of CIoTA to witness the formal induction of NCAT staff and students into the professional body.

    In his opening remarks, the Registrar of CIoTA, Mr. Rasheed Isiaka Aiyelabegan, delivered a presentation titled Who Are We (CIoTA)? He explained that the Institute was established in the United Kingdom in 1944 and was incorporated in Nigeria in 1986. He added that the Institute has continued to grow as one of the country’s leading professional bodies in transport administration, promoting professionalism, ethical standards, and capacity development across the transport sector.

    The Registrar further noted that CIoTA currently has about 20,000 active members across the country. He encouraged the newly inducted staff and students to uphold the ethics of the profession and contribute meaningfully to the development of the transport and aviation industries.

    Speaking at the event, the Rector/Chief Executive of NCAT, Dr. Danjuma A. Ismaila, commended the leadership of CIoTA for its collaboration with the College in promoting professional development. He congratulated the newly inducted staff and students and urged them to remain committed to excellence, integrity, and professionalism in the discharge of their responsibilities.

    Among the staff inducted into CIoTA were Prof. Bakare Ayeni, Director of ICT; Capt. Shettima Jatto, Head of Safety; Engr. (Mrs.) Mu’azu, Dean of Students Affairs; Flight Instructor Hauwa; Instructor Aliyu Saidu; Instructor Tijani Ahmed; and Mrs. Habibat Balarabe.

    During the event, Engr. Nasiru Gungura, Dean of the Aerodrome Safety Engineering School, was inaugurated as Chairman of the NCAT Branch of CIoTA, while Hajia Betara was appointed Treasurer. Other members of the branch executive include Engr. Ishaya Akaba and Mr. Abubakar Labaran.

    Similarly, Capt. Jim Hassan, Deputy Rector (Academic), and Mr. Sikirulah A. Bello, Chief Internal Auditor, were appointed as Patrons of the NCAT Branch of CIoTA.

    NCAT students were also formally inducted into the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration of Nigeria (CIoTA).

    The representative of the President and Chairman of Council of CIoTA presented an award to the Rector/Chief Executive of NCAT, Dr. Danjuma A. Ismaila, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to transport administration, professional development, and the advancement of aviation training in Nigeria.
