Niger State government has commenced the payment of retirement benefits and death gratuity to all eligible Local and State Government pensioners.
A statement signed by Bologi Ibrahim, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, said the payment is expected to cover batch 12 for State Government Gratuity, batch one for State government death gratuity and batch three for local government gratuity.
State government beneficiaries have already started collecting their cheques at the Niger State Pension Board Headquarters Minna while local government gratuity beneficiaries from Zone A are collecting theirs at Bida Local Government Secretariat.
Local government beneficiaries from Zone B are collecting theirs at the Niger State Pension Board Headquarters, Minna while their counterparts from Zone C are simultaneous receiving theirs at the Kontagora Local Government Secretariat, Kontagora.
The Niger State government under the leadership of the farmer governor remains committed to ensuring the timely payment of all approved retirement benefits.
It underscores the unwavering commitment of the farmer governor to prioritizing the welfare of senior citizens who dedicated many years of service to the development and growth of the State.
Representatives from some northern states are studying the activities of Niger State Pension Board following the appreciable progress recorded by it .
