    The Nigerian Army (NA) Archery Team has recorded an impressive performance at the Nigeria Archery Federation National Open Championship 2026, held at the National Stadium, Abuja, from 22 to 26 April 2026.

    A statement signed by Captain Joy Ehi Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations Headquarters Directorate of Army Physical Training, GIRI said the championship, organized by the Nigeria Archery Federation, brought together top archers from across the country in a keenly contested event aimed at promoting excellence and sportsmanship in archery.

    Demonstrating remarkable skill, discipline, and resilience throughout the competition, the NA team delivered a strong outing, clinching a total of 10 medals, comprising 4 Gold, 5 Silver, and 1 Bronze. This outstanding performance earned the team an overall second-place finish on the medal table, further underscoring the NA’s growing dominance in the sport.

    The athletes displayed commendable professionalism and team spirit, reflecting the NA’s commitment to physical fitness, precision, and excellence in both military duties and sporting activities. The championship provided a valuable platform for talent discovery and national integration, while also enhancing the visibility of archery as a competitive sport in Nigeria.

    Highlights of the event include moments of intense competition, teamwork, and podium celebrations, with photographs captured to document the memorable achievements of the NA team.
