In continuation of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, the Nigerian Army has donated 196 bags of fertilizer to farmers in Daudu Community, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State. The donation was carried out on Wednesday, 15 April 2026, at UBE Primary School, Daudu.
This was contained in a statement signed by Major Ojo Ifedayo Adenegan, Acting Director information management army headquarters department of civil – Military relations issued to newsmen.
Speaking at the event, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Waidi Shuaib who was represented by the Commander, 401 Special Forces Brigade, Brigadier General KO Bukoye, stated that the initiative is aimed at enhancing agricultural productivity, improving the livelihoods of host communities, and fostering sustained security through community support.
He urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the fertilizers and to continue supporting the Nigerian Army by providing credible information on criminal activities within their communities and surrounding areas. According to him, such cooperation will further enhance the success of ongoing military operations.
In his remarks, the Chairman of Guma Local Government Area Hon Maurice Orwough expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Army for the intervention. He assured that the items would be properly utilized by the beneficiaries and pledged the continued support of the local government and residents for the Army’s operations.
The event was attended by community leaders, stakeholders, and beneficiaries from Daudu Community and its environs.
