The Nigerian Army Archery Team COAS Archers has emerged as the overall winner of the 2026 Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Inter-Service Archery Competition, securing an impressive haul of four gold, four silver, and three bronze medals.
The three-day competition, which commenced on 25 March 2026, took place at the Aguiyi Ironsi Sports Complex and featured teams from the three Services of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
A statement signed by Captain Joy Ehi Abah, acting assistant director army public relations, headquarters directorate of army physical training GIRI said the event provided a platform for personnel to demonstrate exceptional marksmanship, discipline, and sportsmanship.
Throughout the competition, the Nigerian Army team displayed remarkable precision, focus, and consistency, outperforming the Nigerian Navy and Nigerian Air Force to top the overall medal standings.The competition was conducted seamlessly without any incidents, underscoring the high level of organization and inter-service cooperation.
The successful execution of the event highlights the Armed Forces’ continued commitment to promoting physical fitness, unity, and esprit de corps among its personnel.
