The Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), 82 Division Chapter, has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting widows of fallen heroes through an empowerment outreach held to commemorate the Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) 2026.
A statement signed by Lieutenant Colonel Olabisi Olalekan Ayeni acting deputy director army public relations,82 division Nigerian army said the event took place on 28 June 2026 at the Headquarters NAOWA Secretariat, Enugu.
Delivering her message of encouragement, the Chairperson NAOWA 82 Division Chapter, Mrs Hilda Fadairo, represented by the Association’s Secretary, Mrs Onyia, called on widows within the Division’s Area of Responsibility to embody resilience, confidence, and courage in the face of any challenge. She urged them to embrace industriousness and take calculated steps to improve their circumstances. She assured them that the Association will continue to support them. She also paid tribute to the fallen heroes while appreciating their sacrifices and legacies which according to her will continue to inspire the nation and the next generation.
The widows expressed heartfelt appreciation for the continuous support and assistance provided by NAOWA, emphasising the positive impact of the Association’s efforts on their lives. They particularly appreciated the Chairperson for her kindness and love for the widows.
The event featured the distribution of bags of rice and other relief items, alongside group photographs that captured moments of unity and shared resilience.
The outreach highlighted NAOWA’s enduring role in promoting compassion, solidarity, and empowerment among families of military personnel and the general public at large .
