The Nigerian Army has recorded sweeping operational successes across multiple theatres within the last 24 hours, demonstrating unmatched combat superiority and relentless pressure on terrorist elements. From the North East to the North West and North Central, troops neutralized threats, foiled attacks, rescued kidnapped victims and dismantled terrorist support networks in a series of coordinated and intelligence-driven operations.

In Benue State, troops of Sect 1 Operation WHIRL STROKE conducted fighting patrols across suspected terrorist enclaves in Agatu LGA, resulting in the arrest of 2 suspects and recovery of 2 motorcycles. In Borno State, troops of 21 Special Armoured Brigade apprehended a suspected ISWAP/JAS terrorist on a spying mission. Additionally, troops of 153 Task Force Battalion, during a well-laid ambush in Gwoza LGA, forced terrorists to flee, abandoning one magazine, 19 rounds of 5.56mm NATO ammunition, one motorcycle and other sundry items.

Troops in Zamfara State responded swiftly to terrorist attacks on commuters. Along the Maru–Mayanchi–Gusau road, troops of 1 Brigade rescued 5 abducted passengers after exploiting the terrorists’ withdrawal route. Similarly, troops of Combat Team 2 engaged terrorists between Sabon Gida and Anguwan Rogo, forcing them to abandon 5 kidnapped victims, including one with gunshot wounds.

In Katsina State, troops of 17 Brigade neutralized a notorious terrorist, Abbas Nabula and apprehended one terrorist informant. During the operation, troops also recovered grains of millet suspected to be part of terrorist logistics. In Sokoto State, troops of 8 Division Garrison engaged terrorists in Sabon Birni LGA, compelling them to abandon one kidnapped victim, while efforts to rescue remaining captives are ongoing. Similarly, in Abia State, troops of 145 Battalion apprehended a suspected IPOB/ESN informant, further disrupting terrorist support networks.

These operational gains highlight the Nigerian Army’s sustained offensive posture and determination to dismantle terrorist networks, deny them freedom of action, and protect law-abiding citizens. The Army reassures Nigerians of its resolve to sustain the momentum and urges continued public support through timely and credible information.
