    The Nigerian Army (NA) Male and Female Volleyball Teams recorded impressive performances at the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Democracy Day Volleyball Championship 2026, held on 12 June 2026.

    A statement signed by Captain Joy Ehi Abah Acting Assistant DirectorArmy Public RelationsHeadquarters Directorate of Army Physical Training, GIRI said the championship featured teams from the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies, providing a platform for promoting unity, camaraderie, sportsmanship and healthy competition among participants.

    The NA teams demonstrated exceptional discipline, teamwork, resilience, and technical excellence, while competing against some of the nation’s finest volleyball teams. Their outstanding performances earned the NA Male and Female Volleyball Teams second-place finishes, emerging as runners-up in their respective categories.

    The achievement further reinforces the Nigerian Army’s commitment to sports development and excellence while enhancing the Service’s positive image.

    The Directorate of Army Physical Training remains dedicated to improving the performance of Nigerian Army athletes through continuous training, participation in high-level competitions, and the provision of necessary support to achieve greater success in future national and international sporting events.
