The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kano State Council, expresses its heartfelt condolences over the demise of an illustrious son of Kano and veteran media executive, the late Alhaji Adamu Ibrahim Getso.

In a statement signed and made available to the press by the Union’s Secretary, Hauwa Suleiman Zahradeen, the Acting Council Chairman, Comrade Mustapha Gambo, extended the union’s deep sympathy to the immediate family, friends, and the entire Getso community in Gwarzo Local government area over this irreplaceable loss.

The Union prayed to Almighty Allah (S.W.T) to forgive the shortcomings of the deceased, comfort his loved ones during this trying period, and grant him Jannatul Firdaus as his eternal resting abode.

Reflecting on the life and career of the deceased, the Acting Chairman stated that the immense contributions of the late Adamu Getso to the media landscape cannot be overemphasized.

“The late Adamu Getso was a versatile, media executive who dedicated his career to the service of the people and the journalism profession.

His impact on public enlightenment remains a reference point in the state,” Gambo stated.

The Union noted with high regard Getso’s pivotal role as a lead anchor for key political and developmental programmes during both the first and second tenures of His Excellency, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s administration.

Through his exceptional broadcasting skills, he played a crucial role in informing, educating, and engaging the public on government activities and societal issues across Kano State and beyond.

The NUJ Kano Council stands in solidarity with the media fraternity and the people of Kano State in mourning a true professional whose voice and dedication will be sorely missed.
