In continuation of his operational visits to units and formations under command, the Commander 27 Task Force Brigade, Brigadier General Mukhtar Shehu Mukhtar, visited 241 Recce Model Battalion, Nguru, Yobe State, where he charged troops to remain disciplined, dedicated and professional in the discharge of their duties.
The charge was made during a two-day operational visit to the battalion at Nguru.
A statement signed by Lieutenant Tasiu Abdullahi Abbas Acting Assistant Director Army Public Relations 27 Task Force Brigade Buni Gari, Gujba LGA, Yobe State said the visit was aimed at assessing the operational readiness of the battalion, interacting with troops and obtaining first-hand information on their operational activities, welfare and challenges within the unit’s area of responsibility.
While addressing the troops, Brigadier General Mukhtar commended them for their sacrifices, commitment and resilience in the fight against insecurity in the North East. He urged them to redouble their efforts and remain dedicated to the successful accomplishment of assigned tasks.
The Commander emphasized that discipline, professionalism, loyalty and collaboration with sister security agencies remain essential attributes of every soldier, stressing that troops must at all times conduct themselves in a manner that upholds the good image and reputation of the Nigerian Army.
He further charged personnel to remain vigilant, obey lawful directives and maintain a high level of professionalism, while avoiding violations of the social media policy in the course of carrying out their responsibilities. He also encouraged them to work together as a team and remain committed to the protection of lives and property, as well as the defence of the nation’s territorial integrity.
The Commander encouraged troops to make prudent use of their resources and pay attention to the welfare and upbringing of their families, noting that taking good care of their families would give them peace of mind and enable them to remain focused on their military responsibilities.

He acknowledged the efforts of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in improving the welfare of personnel of the Nigerian Armed Forces, particularly through the recent enhancement of salaries and other welfare initiatives.
He urged troops to reciprocate these efforts by remaining loyal, disciplined and dedicated to their duties, stressing that the improved welfare package comes with greater responsibility and expectations. He further assured the troops of his continued commitment to their welfare and operational effectiveness, while urging them to remain resolute and proud of their service to the Nigerian Army and the nation.
Receiving the Commander, the Commanding Officer of 241 Recce Model Battalion, Colonel AT Adeoti, alongside his officers and men, accorded Brigadier General Mukhtar a warm and befitting reception at the battalion headquarters. He formally welcomed the Commander and expressed the battalion’s appreciation for the visit, noting that the engagement provided an opportunity to interact directly with troops and other security agencies within his area of responsibility and assess their operational activities.
Colonel Adeoti thereafter briefed the Commander on the operational activities of the battalion, highlighting the unit’s efforts, achievements and commitment to maintaining peace and security within its area of responsibility. He also briefed the Commander on some of the operational and administrative challenges confronting the battalion and sought the support of Brigade Headquarters in addressing them.
As part of the operational engagement, the Commander paid a courtesy visit to the Emir of Machina, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Bashir Albishir Bukar Machinama, OON, at his palace in Machina, Yobe State. The visit provided an opportunity for the Commander to engage the traditional institution on matters relating to peace, security and community support within the area.
Brigadier General Mukhtar acknowledged the important role of traditional rulers in fostering peaceful coexistence, providing useful information to security agencies and strengthening the relationship between the military and host communities. He solicited continued support and cooperation from the Emir and the people of Machina in the collective efforts to maintain peace and security in the area.

Responding, the Emir of Machina appreciated the Commander for the visit and assured him of the traditional institution’s continued support and cooperation towards promoting peace, security and stability in Machina and its environs.
Highlights of the visit included the inspection of the Quarter Guard, operational brief, tour of facilities, signing of the visitors’book and group photographs.
