The Katsina State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police CP Ali Umar Fage, psc (+), mnips, has successfully foiled a bandit attack and kidnapping attempt in Fulalawa Village, Musawa Local Government Area.
This was contained in a statement signed by the command public relations officer DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu issued to newsmen.
It said on August 13, 2026, at about 11:30 AM, a distress call was received at the Musawa Police Division that some suspected armed bandits, armed with dangerous weapons, had attacked Fulalawa Village. The attackers broke into local shops, abducted several residents, and rustled livestock.
Upon receipt of the report, the DPO, Musawa, led a team of police operatives, alongside members of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC), to the scene. On sighting the team, the bandits opened fire. The joint team responded with superior tactics and firepower, forcing the attackers to abandon their captives and flee into nearby bushes with suspected gunshot injuries.
All kidnapped victims were rescued unharmed and have since been reunited with their families. Additionally, the team recovered two operational motorcycles abandoned by the fleeing bandits.
Efforts are being intensified to ensure the arrest of the fleeing suspects.
