The Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Zamfara State Command, has joined Nigerians in commemorating National Youth Day, with a call on women and youths to embrace self-reliance, skills acquisition, entrepreneurship and other legitimate means of improving their livelihoods.
A statement signed by the command public relations officer DSP Yazid Abubakar said the programme was organized under the leadership of the Chairperson, POWA Zamfara State Command, Hajiya Zalihat Bello, who was represented at the event by Mrs. Grace Zat.
In her remarks, the representative of the Chairperson encouraged women and youths to take advantage of available opportunities in skills acquisition, entrepreneurship and other productive ventures that would enable them to become economically independent and contribute meaningfully to the development of society
She emphasized the importance of personal development, hard work, discipline and productivity, noting that women and youths remain vital stakeholders in building a peaceful, prosperous and self-reliant society.
The Commissioner of Police, Zamfara State Command, CP A. M. Bello, PSC+, MNIPS, CCNP, commended POWA for the thoughtful and impactful initiative. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to prioritizing youth development and supporting initiatives that promote self-reliance, responsible citizenship, peaceful coexistence and positive contributions to society.
The Command further encourages women and youths across Zamfara State to remain committed to legitimate pursuits and continue to serve as positive agents of peace, development and social transformation.
