The President Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA), Dr Safiyyah Hassan Shaibu led members of the National Executive Council on a courtesy visit to the President Defence and Police Officers’ Wives Association (DEPOWA), Mrs Mernan Femi Oluyede to congratulate her on her assumption of office, appreciate her distinguished service as the immediate past President of NAOWA and reaffirm the longstanding partnership between both associations.

It said during the visit, Dr Safiyyah Shaibu paid tribute to Mrs Oluyede’s exemplary leadership and enduring legacy, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare and the establishment of the NAOWA Multipurpose Cooperative Society. She also reaffirmed her administration’s commitment to sustaining these achievements while advancing innovative initiatives in youth empowerment, women’s economic development, humanitarian services and educational transformation. The NAOWA President further emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration with DEPOWA to enhance the welfare and well-being of military and other security families.
In her remarks, Mrs Oluyede commended Dr Safiyyah Shaibu for her visionary leadership, seamless continuity and commitment to institutional growth, noting that her administration has further strengthened NAOWA through impactful programmes and strategic initiatives. She reaffirmed DEPOWA’s commitment to continued collaboration in promoting the welfare, empowerment and sustainable development of military, police and other security families. The visit concluded with the signing of the visitors’ book, presentation of souvenirs, group photographs and a renewed commitment by both leaders to deepen institutional cooperation in pursuit of their shared vision.
