The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Yahaya Isa Bunkure, has sought the support of the Nigerian High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Amb. Aminu Dalhatu, in facilitating strategic partnerships between the Federal University of Education, Zaria, and higher education institutions in the United Kingdom.
A statement signed by Sani Lawal Maqarphy media aide to the VC said Professor Bunkure made the request when he, alongside the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Amb. Baba Ahmad Jidda, OFR, paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian High Commission in London on 27th July, 2026.
During the visit, the Vice-Chancellor presented a congratulatory letter to Amb. Dalhatu on his well-deserved appointment as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
Prof. Bunkure said the Federal University of Education, Zaria, was committed to expanding its global network through strategic collaborations with reputable universities across the globe.
He requested the High Commissioner to facilitate linkages with universities and research institutions in the United Kingdom for mutual partnerships, particularly in the areas of teaching, research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Responding, Amb. Aminu Dalhatu expressed appreciation to the Pro-Chancellor and the Vice-Chancellor for the congratulatory visit.
He commended the University’s vision of building international collaborations and assured the delegation of the High Commission’s readiness of the High Commission to give its support.
