Beneficiaries of Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna’s Foreign Scholarship Initiative, popularly known as the Sardauna Scholars, have paid him a visit, reaffirming their loyalty and unwavering support for his political ambition to govern Gombe State.
A statement signed by Ibrahim Sani shawai media aide to Dr Jamil Isyaku Gwamna APC Gombe State Gubernatorial candidate said during the meeting in Gombe, the team, led by Muhammad Umar Adam, expressed profound gratitude to Dr. Gwamna for the life-changing opportunity he provided to them, through his fully funded scholarship programme aimed at improving access to quality education and empowering youths of Gombe State.
They described him as a visionary leader committed to advancing education, youth development, and women empowerment in the state.
The scholars also pledged their full support for his gubernatorial ambition and called on the people of the state to rally behind him, noting that his track record demonstrates a clear commitment to sustainable development and human capital advancement.
The visit underscored the success of a strategic human capital development initiative launched by Dr. Gwamna in 2019, when he sponsored ten indigenes of Gombe State—drawn from ten different Local Government Areas—to pursue undergraduate studies in Morocco across various fields, including Arts and Sciences.
Gwamna fully funded all aspects of the programme, including tuition fees, transportation, feeding, and allowances, from inception to completion in 2022.
In his response, Gwamna expressed deep satisfaction and pride in the achievements of the scholars, describing their success as a testament to the transformative power of investing in education.
He further assured that, if elected as governor, he would not only sustain the scholarship programme but also expand it to accommodate more beneficiaries across the state.
He reiterated his commitment to inclusive governance and pledged to introduce additional initiatives that would empower youths, uplift women, and improve the overall well-being of the people of Gombe State.
