The political camp of Senator Kabir Garba Marafa, CON, has formally announced its defection from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), marking a significant political development in Zamfara State.

This decision follows a series of consultations and resolutions by the Senator’s supporters, who had earlier expressed deep concerns over what they described as persistent irregularities in the management and leadership of the ADC at the state level.

A statement signed by Mansur M. Haruna  Director General, New Media Team Office of Senator Kabir Garba Marafa, said after careful deliberation, the group advised their leader to seek a more viable political platform capable of advancing the collective aspirations of the people.Senator Kabir Garba Marafa and Supporters Officially Join NDC

It said the official declaration of the new alliance was confirmed through the verified Facebook account of the National Chairman of the NDC, Henry Seriake Dickson.

At the event, Senator Marafa was presented with the party’s national flag, symbolizing his position as the leader of the NDC in Zamfara State.

With this development, the NDC emerged as a new political platform for the people of Zamfara State. Supporters describe the party as a vehicle for positive change, committed to addressing longstanding political challenges and delivering a more inclusive and progressive governance structure.

Speaking on behalf of the support groups, Surajo Garba Mai Katako called on citizens across the state to promptly register with the NDC, emphasizing that the party represents the future and a renewed hope for the people.

“This marks the beginning of a new chapter for Zamfara State. By the will of Allah, 2027 will usher in a new era under Senator Kabir Garba Marafa,” he stated.
