The RT HON Speaker of the house of representatives Dr Tajudeen Abbas has had an engagement with the Italian Ambassador to Nigeria Roberto Mengoni.
The Ambassador was at the office of the speaker for discussion on ways of deepening existing relationships between Nigeria and Italy.
In a remark Dr Tajudeen Abbas observed that human trafficking is a stain on our humanity – and Nigeria and Italy must continue to work together until this menace is defeated.
In the course of the meeting with the Italian Ambassador to Nigeria, Roberto Mengoni, the Speaker stressed the urgent need for stronger collaboration to combat trafficking, especially the exploitation of women and vulnerable Nigerians.
According to him, beyond this, we reaffirmed our shared commitment to deeper cooperation in education, health, energy, security, and economic development, while advancing legal pathways and opportunities for skilled Nigerians.
Nigeria and Italy share a long history of friendship.
