The chairman of the forum, Alh Abdullahi Yalwa stated this while addressing newsmen in Abuja.
Alh Abdullahi Yalwa also call on the Tinubu administration to immediately declare a state of emergency on security in the North with a clearly defined tactical, strategic and timeline for drastically bringing down insecurity in the region.
The chairman of the forum also admonished Northern leaders at all levels to wake up to their responsibility of salvaging and ending insecurity in the region.
According to him, most instances of insecurity are often motivated by local circumstances, as such communities must therefore identify the ecosystem of insecurity and fish out informants and other facilitators of banditry and terrorism
The forum also applauded the creation of state police and the forest guards as a midterm and complimentary strategy for fighting insecurity, stating that, however, only a massive use of our conventional forces to dislodge criminals from their forest hideout could give these agencies a fighting chance.
On the economy, the forum called for the creation of a developmental blueprint for the region, lamenting the collapse of industries in the North and call on critical stakeholders to wake up from their slumber to continue with the profound legacies of our forebears.
Alh Abdullahi Yalwa also expressed concern over the number of out of school children in the region, adding that 80 to 90% of such children are in the North and called on leaders to seriously address the problem for the socioeconomic development of the North
On the forthcoming general elections,the forum call on the Northern electorate, to reject all political leaders who fan the amber of disunity and religious divisions
