…Skills Acquisition Remains Key to Youth Self-Reliance — Gov Radda
Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has pledged stronger support for artisans and increased investment in skills development as the Katsina State Chapter of the National Automobile Technicians Association (NATA) endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Governor for the 2027 General Elections.
A statement signed by Ibrahim kaula Mohammad chief press secretary to the Governor said Governor Radda made the commitment on Wednesday at the People’s Square, Katsina, where members of the association declared their support for the President and the Governor, citing their interventions in skills development, artisan empowerment and economic opportunities.
Thanking NATA members for the endorsement, Governor Radda said his administration would deepen its partnership with the association through the Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency (KASEDA) and other government programmes.
“We appreciate this endorsement and the confidence you have shown in our administration. We have supported members of this association with empowerment tools, and we will continue to work with you to create more opportunities,” Governor Radda said.
The Governor stressed that skills acquisition remains central to his administration’s plan to prepare young people for sustainable livelihoods, noting that government alone cannot provide formal jobs for everyone.
“Government cannot provide formal employment for every young person. That is why we must give our youths the right skills and opportunities to become self-reliant, build businesses and create opportunities for others,” he said.
Governor Radda said his administration would continue to invest in technical training, agriculture, entrepreneurship and other practical skills through KASEDA, the Katsina Youth Craft Village (KYCV) and related programmes.
He urged beneficiaries to make good use of government interventions and assured artisans that his administration would continue to support initiatives that improve their businesses and livelihoods.
Earlier, KASEDA Director-General, Dr. Babangida Kabir Ruma, commended NATA for recognising the administration’s support for artisans. He assured members that the agency would continue to provide training, entrepreneurship support and other interventions to strengthen their businesses.
NATA Katsina Chapter Chairman, Alhaji Abbati, said the association’s endorsement of President Tinubu and Governor Radda was informed by their support for artisans and efforts to expand economic opportunities.
He pledged that NATA members would mobilise support for both leaders ahead of the 2027 General Elections.
Also speaking, Katsina State APC Chairman, Dr. Bishir Gambo Saulawa, described the endorsement as a vote of confidence in the APC-led government and urged members of the association to sustain their support.
A representative of NATA trainees thanked the state government for its empowerment programmes and pledged the beneficiaries’ continued support.
The event was attended by the Deputy Governor, Hon. Faruk Lawal Jobe; Principal Private Secretary to the Governor, Hon. Abdullahi Aliyu Turaji; members of the Katsina State Executive Council; and other senior government officials.
